This application seeks to permit the use of dextransucrase for use as a processing aid, in the production of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides to reduce sucrose content and improve texture in foods containing sucrose and has prepared a draft food regulatory measure.

A1292 - Phospholipase C from Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid

On 10 December 2025, the FSANZ Board approved changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit phospholipase C from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid in degumming of fats and oils.


Consultation and assessment

FSANZ released the public call for submissions in July 2025. Feedback from this consultation, along with our scientific assessment informed our final decision.
