Use of AI by candidates
FSANZ is committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process and want all candidates to feel confident and supported when applying. We recognise that AI tools can be handy for researching roles or drafting your responses and you’re welcome to use them to help prepare your application. However you should follow all relevant APS policies throughout the recruitment process.
Ensure your submission truly reflects your own skills, experience and understanding. If you’ve used AI to generate any part of your application, we ask that you declare this - it helps us maintain integrity and ensures we understand your unique strengths. If needed, we may ask for clarification or further details to make sure everything’s accurate and genuinely your own work.
Giving any false statements during the recruitment process may disqualify you from employment. If you are currently employed by the agency, it may also lead to disciplinary action under the APS Code of Conduct.
Please refer to the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) candidates guide on AI for further information on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by candidates when applying for Australian Public Service (APS) recruitment processes.

How FSANZ uses AI in recruitment
FSANZ complies with the Australian Government’s Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence technical standards and incorporates AI within our recruitment processes as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency. We use AI as a tool to help us work more efficiently in certain areas of recruitment. AI assists us in developing candidate packs and in creating job advertisements to streamline processes. However, AI is not used to make any decisions about candidates at any stage including decisions relating to shortlisting and assessing candidates. These are made by a human selection panel consistent with APS merit-based recruitment principles.
