FSANZ Board Outcome
The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Board held a meeting on 2 and 3 June 2026 to discuss and decide on standards matters. The meeting communique is now available.
Approval - Food Ministers' Meeting notification
FSANZ has approved variations arising from the following application and proposal on 3 June 2026. FSANZ has notified this approval to the Food Ministers’ Meeting:
- A1329 - Exclusion of Blacklip Rock oysters farmed in the Northern Territory from the ML for cadmium in molluscs
- A1339 - 2′-FL, 3-FL, LNT, 3′-SL, and 6′-SL from GM Escherichia coli BL21 for use as nutritive substances in infant formula products
- A1340 - 2'-FL from GM Escherichia coli BL21 (gene donor: Akkermansia muciniphila) for use as a nutritive substance in infant formula
The Food Ministers’ Meeting now has 60 days to either request FSANZ to review the approved standard or inform FSANZ that it does not intend to request a review. Further information on the process is available from the FSANZ website: The Food Ministers' Meeting.
