When FSANZ considers changes to the Food Standards Code, we invite input and feedback from anyone with an interest in the application or proposal.

FSANZ is an independent statutory authority. We undertake a scientific assessment of the available evidence, consult publicly on our findings, then consider all submissions and any new evidence before finalising our assessment.

Consumers can have confidence that food standards are developed independently, informed by a wide range of perspectives and based on the best available evidence, with protecting public health and safety the primary objective.
