On 29 April 2026, the FSANZ Board approved changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code resulting from proposal M1023, which considered varying maximum residue limits for residues of specific agricultural and veterinary chemicals that may occur in food commodities.
Consultation and assessment
FSANZ released the public call for submissions in January 2026. Feedback from this consultation, along with our scientific assessment informed our final decision.
