This proposal seeks to develop a draft regulatory measure for Schedule 22 - Food and classes of foods. The proposed variation will address inconsistencies between the foods and classes of foods and crop groups, including subgroups, adopted by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and codex Alimentarius and the foods and classes of foods described and listed in Schedule 22. A revised Schedule 22 will provide clarity for food commodities listed in Schedules 20/21 and / or foods referenced by other standards and Schedules of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code).
