Call for submissions
FSANZ invites written submissions on the assessment of the following applications via the FSANZ Consultation Hub by 11:59pm (Canberra time) 2 June 2026.
General procedure
- A1338 - Triacylglycerol lipase from Komagataella phaffii (gene donor: Yarrowia lipolytica) for use as a processing aid
- A1345 - Dextransucrase from Bacillus subtilis (gene donor: Streptococcus salivarius) for use as a processing aid

FSANZ has completed an administrative assessment and made a decision to prepare the following proposal. An opportunity to comment will be available at a later date, which will be publicly notified.

Work Plan update
The Food Standards Work Plan has been updated. FSANZ regularly updates the plan to reflect any changes to applications and proposals work in line with FSANZ Act requirements.
APVMA - proposed amendments to Schedule 20
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) have notified FSANZ of applications or other proposed changes now under consideration, that may result in a variation to Schedule 20 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code).
Pursuant to section 82 of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991, the APVMA has authority to amend the Maximum Residue Limits Standard, which is Schedule 20 of the Code. Prior to making a variation, the APVMA must notify FSANZ. For further information, visit the Maximum residue limits - variations webpage.
