A1341 - Cell-cultured duck (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) biomass

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is calling for submissions on Application A1341 – Cell-cultured duck (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) biomass.

The application from Suprême SAS (Gourmey) seeks approval to use cell-cultured duck biomass in combination with other ingredients to make products such as foie gras and pâté.

The application has been assessed under FSANZ’s general procedure and includes one round of public consultation. 

Our risk assessment identified no public health or safety concerns associated with either the production cell line or the resulting biomass
