A1338 - Triacylglycerol lipase from Komagataella phaffii (gene donor: Yarrowia lipolytica) for use as a processing aid

On 5 August 2026, the FSANZ Board approved changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit the use of the enzyme triacylglycerol lipase as a processing aid to hydrolyse lipids during the manufacture of dairy-based products and plant-based dairy analogues.


Consultation and assessment

FSANZ released the public call for submissions in April 2026. Feedback from this consultation, along with our scientific assessment, informed our final decision.
