On 29 April 2026, the FSANZ Board approved changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit molecularly-imprinted adsorbent resins (molecularly-imprinted polymers or MIPs), which are a type of cross-linked polyester resin, as a processing aid in wine production in Australia.

FSANZ released the public call for submissions in January 2026. Feedback from this consultation, along with our scientific assessment informed our final decision.
