This application seeks to permit the use of chitosan extracted from white button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) as a processing aid in wine, beer, cider and other alcoholic beverages.


Call for submissions

This application is being assessed under FSANZ’s general procedure and will include one round of public consultation. The current call for submissions will run from 16 April to 28 May 2026.
