Freedom of information The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) gives you the right to access information held by us. It is a legally enforceable right of access to government documents. The FOI Act applies to Australian Government ministers and most agencies, although the obligations of agencies and ministers are different. Public Interest Disclosures The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013 (PID Act) promotes the integrity and accountability of the Commonwealth public sector by creating a framework for facilitating the reporting of suspected wrongdoing and ensuring timely and effective investigation of reports. What we do Food Standards Australia New Zealand is the central scientific agency in the bi-national safe food system.
