2011-13 AHS and 1995 NNS food classification concordance file This file cross references food groups reported in the 2011-13 Australian Health Survey with food groups reported in the 1995 National Nutrition Survey (NNS). The file was developed to allow users to compare consumption between the two surveys. For each 3 digit group in the 2011-13 AHS classification, the file identifies the corresponding 1995 NNS groups or individual foods. Note that in some cases, a 1995 group has been split between 2011-13 AHS groups.

Information on establishing food-health relationships for general level health claims This document is provided to assist food businesses wishing to establish a relationship between a food or property of food and a health effect (food-health relationship) by a process of systematic review for the purpose of making a general level health claim. All the requirements for making a general level health claim on a food label or in an advertisement are set out in Standard 1.2.7 - Nutrition, Health and Related Claims in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (code). New partnership heralds start of work on Australia's Branded Food Database Work has commenced on a public online database of Australian branded food products. Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is partnering with GS1 Australia (GS1), a not-for-profit provider of product identification and information services, to develop the Branded Food Database. The database will provide a central source of brand-specific information for Australian foods and beverages to help people make informed decisions about the products they buy and support public health initiatives such as the Health Star Rating system and the Healthy Food Partnership.
