A1334 - 2′-FL from GM Corynebacterium glutamicum (gene donor: Corynebacterium urealyticum) in infant formula products

On 10 March 2026, the FSANZ Board approved changes to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit the voluntary addition of a new genetically modified source of 2′-fucosyllactose in infant formula products.

Consultation and assessment

FSANZ released the public call for submissions in October 2025. Feedback from this consultation, along with our scientific assessment, informed our final decision.
