As part of the FSANZ Evaluation Strategy 2001-2003, a Food Label Monitoring Survey was initiated in mid 2002 with the intention of developing an ongoing monitoring system for food labels.

The results reported here are for Phase 1 of the Survey. Phase 1 covers two sampling periods - from 1 July 2002 to 20 December 2002 and from 1 July 2003 to 31 December 2003, and provides useful baseline data for an ongoing Label Monitoring Survey.
