In 2015, FSANZ commissioned this online study
of 1,396 Australians and 1,015 New Zealanders aged 15 years and over. The
study was designed to generate reliable population estimates of the level of
use, understanding and confidence in various label elements. To limit the need
for respondents to know the names of various label elements, the study contained mock-ups and utilised ‘point
and click’ responses. The research informed the technical advice FSANZ provided
on Recommendation 12 of an independent review of food labelling. Find more information about FSANZ’s work for the labelling review.
