Standard 3.1.1 - Interpretation and Application
This Standard:
- defines the terms that are used in the food safety standards including ‘food business’, ‘food premises’, ‘food proprietor’, ‘safe food’ and ‘suitable food'
- specifies that the food safety standards apply to food business in Australia but not in New Zealand
- specifies that food businesses must comply with all the requirements of the food safety standards with the exception of those that apply to food handlers
- specifies that food handlers must comply with the requirements that apply to them.
