Assistance for Industry
The Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code) will change the way manufacturers and retailers make and present food for sale.
A wide range of resources have been developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), to assist food businesses comply with the new Food Standards Code.
These resources include:
- The Food Standards Code - All of the standards and subsequent amendments in the Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code). Available from website in html or pdf format. A search facility is available and details on where to purchase hard copies of the Food Standards Code and User Guides.
- User Guides - these incorporate extensive interpretation and compliance advice for manufacturers and retailers on key standards, including worked examples in many cases.
- Nutrition Panel Calculator - a web-based Nutrition Panel Calculator (NPC) has been developed to simplify the calculation of mandatory nutrition labels required for most food under the new Code.
- Contacts List - for State, Territory and New Zealand health department officials who can provide advice on the new standards.
