The ANZFA Standards Workplan
The amendments to the ANZFA Act and Regulations, providing for a Workplan and cost recovery in some situations, came into practical effect after 30 June 2001. One of the key objectives of the Workplan is to provide a realistic and equitable basis for allocating resources to standards work. The Workplan schedules Applications and Proposals to vary theFood Standards Codeinto three main groups:
· Group One:Matters having high health / safety elements and / or high consumer interest are processed as a priority.
· Group Two:Other matters, where no fee is paid, are processed on a ' first come, first served ' basis.
· Group Three:Applications for which a fee has been paid are managed separately to those in Groups 1 and 2 and are processed upon receipt of payment. The Authority's resources are not expended in progressing these applications, as external resources are to be sought.
The Workplan is maintained by the Standards Liaison Officer and published quarterly on the ANZFA Website at
