PROGRESS ON APPLICATIONS AND PROPOSALS
NOTICES. The notice below was published on 10 October2001 in the following publications:

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - MATTERS AT DRAFT ASSESSMENT
The Authority has made an Initial assessment (Preliminary assessment - section 13), accepted the following proposal for further consideration and will now make a draft assessment (Full assessment - section 15). You are invited to present written submissions to the Authority on this matter, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government by21 November 2001.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - MATTERS AT FINAL ASSESSMENT
The Authority will conduct a Final assessment (Inquiry - section 17) into the draft variations to standards prepared at Draft assessment (Full assessment - section 15) of the following matters. You are invited to present written submissions to the Authority on these matters, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by21 November 2001.
COUNCIL DECISIONS
The Authority has completed assessments and drafted variations to standards in relation to the following applications and proposals and will make recommendations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Council that variations be adopted into theFood Standards Code:

# These matters were progressed under s.36 of the ANZFA Act 1991.
* Recommended to Council under s.37 of the ANZFA Act as a matter of urgency in order to avoid compromising the objectives set out in subsection 10 (1) (a) of the Act, namely the protection of public health and safety.

Amendment No. 56 was published on Thursday 20 September 2001. It includes variations to standards developed from Applications A413 and A445.
