FSANZ Chief Scientist Marion Healy leaves FSANZ to head up chemical safety body

The Hon Rob Knowles AO, Chairman of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Board, today announced that Chief Scientist Dr Marion Healy has left Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) to take up the role of Director of the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS).
‘Marion has made a significant and lasting contribution to FSANZ, here and overseas. Her tireless efforts have placed FSANZ in a strong and very credible position. She will be missed as a colleague and as a person who has taken on a strong leadership role, ensuring and promoting the scientific basis of our work. She will also be missed as a friend and a mentor and we wish her well in her new challenge,’ Mr Knowles said.
In the interim Dr Paul Brent will be acting Chief Scientist and Mr Deon Mahoney will be acting in the newly created position of General Manager - Risk Assessment Branch. Both these positions will be advertised in the near future.
