New Food Standards Code now

available through subscription

The Australia New Zealand Food Authority (ANZFA) today announced it had entered into an agreement with Anstat to publish the new Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, Industry User Guides and Food Safety Standards.

Speaking at the Foodweek Convention in Sydney, ANZFA Managing Director Ian Lindenmayer said that he was very pleased to be entering into an agreement with a company with an excellent reputation in providing this type of service.

'ANZFA is committed to providing a timely, efficient and cost effective information service to the food industry and broader community. This service will help people to better understand, implement and monitor the changes required under the new Code,' Mr Lindenmayer said.

The new Food Standards Code, which applies in both Australia and New Zealand, is now available under subscription. User Guides currently being drafted as an important interpretive companion to the Code are scheduled for release in July.

All products are available on a subscription basis to ensure updates are distributed automatically, offering subscribers peace of mind in monitoring important changes to the Code.

Mr Lindenmayer said that having a complete set of the Code, Safety Standards and relevant User Guides will make compliance simpler and smoother for those concerned.

'I would commend all those with an involvement in the food industry to purchase a subscription as a critical component of their compliance program.'

Anstat's Managing Director, Jacob Weinmann, said the release of the new publications was a significant achievement and the result of a committed collaborative effort with ANZFA.

'Anstat is delighted to be working with ANZFA and looks forward to further innovation in delivering information and compliance services to the food industry', he said.
