Monitoring and Evaluation

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has responsibility for undertaking a scientific and technical evaluation of the impact of implementation of the new food regulations measures on key stakeholder groups.  FSANZ will undertake evaluation activities from January 2001 to December 2003 that will provide benchmark data to address critical data gaps and enable a full evaluation of the impact of changing key food regulations in the future.

The ANZFA Evaluation Strategy 2001-2003  outlined the scope of the evaluation and six specific activities. It now has been superseded by the FSANZ Evaluation Strategy 2004 – 2008.

This Evaluation Strategy 2004 - 2008 outlines the strategy for undertaking a scientific and technical evaluation of new key food regulatory measures developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). The aim of the evaluation is to assess the effectiveness and appropriateness of food regulatory measures by assessing the long term impact for stakeholders and to provide evidence to inform future decisions on food regulation.

Each of the evaluation activities are published as part of the Evaluation Report Series. The completed evaluation activities are listed below:
