Reason for recall

A processing error which can cause the potential for microbial  growth due to low liquid levels in the can.

This product has been recalled due to low liquid (brine) levels in the can. This was due to an error during the production process. As the sliced beetroot may not be fully covered in the liquid brine, there is a small chance of microbial growth occurring over time. The company has undertaken extensive testing of the product, and no microbial growth has been detected. There have been no reported cases of illness. However, as this product has a very long shelf life, the company, acting diligently, believes that it is in the best interests of consumers to undertake a recall of this product.
