Standard 3.1.1 - Interpretation and Application

Standard 3.1.1 - Interpretation and Application defines the terms used in more than one of the Chapter 3 Standards. It also includes the provisions that require food businesses and food handlers to comply with the other standards in Chapter 3.

FSANZ has developed two guides to assist in the interpretation of the Food Safety Standards in Chapter 3. The first is a guide for Standards 3.1.1, 3.2.2 and 3.2.3. A pdf copy of this publication can be viewed or downloaded from Safe Food Australia - A Guide to the Food Safety Standards. The second publication is ‘Food Safety Programs - A guide to Standard 3.2.1 Food Safety Programs’ which is available as a word  or pdf 191 kb file. A third guide, for Standard 3.3.1, Food Safety Programs for food service to Vulnerable Persons [To commence on 5 October 2008], is being written.
