Food enforcement contacts

In Australia, compliance with the Code for all foods is monitored by authorities in the states and territories. In New Zealand it is monitored by the Ministry for Primary Industries and public health units. Complaints about potentially non-compliant foods should be directed to the relevant agency in each state or territory or in New Zealand.

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) Biosecurity (formerly the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service [AQIS]) has operational responsibility for the inspection and sampling of imported food.
