In Australia, compliance with the Code for all foods is monitored by authorities in the States and Territories.
In addition, the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) has operational responsibility for the inspection and sampling of imported food. Specific complaints about potentially non-compliant food, including imported food can also be directed to your relevant State or Territory agency in the first instance.
