Ministerial Council Review

After amendments to the Treaty are made, the Ministerial Council has one opportunity to request a review of a decision made by FSANZ.   Following the Review, the Ministerial Council must make one of the decisions that was previously available after the Second Review, that is:

• inform FSANZ that it does not intend to amend or reject the draft; or
• amend the draft; or
•  reject the draft.

Note that these amendments are pending, subject to the finalisation of the necessary corresponding change to the Treaty between Australia and New Zealand on the joint food standards system.
